Disguised compliance’ involves a parent or carer giving the appearance of co-operating with agencies to avoid raising suspicions to allay professional concerns, and ultimately to diffuse professional intervention.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Develop a clearer understanding of the nature of disguised compliance and how it presents in the behaviour of the parent/carer;
• Explore tools and techniques that can be used to better intervene and work with the presenting dynamics;
• Understand how to keep the child at the heart of practice;
• Discuss the crucial role of reflective supervision;
• Examine learning from child safeguarding practice reviews and explore how theory can link to practice.
Please note this workshop will be delivered online via Zoom, unless the Covid-19 situation improves and we are able to revert back to face to face training.
